So Who The Heck Writes This Stuff Anyway?

on

Maybe you’ve read my brief “About” section. Maybe you haven’t. It tells you very little about me. So for those who are curious about who the heck writes this blog, here are some fun facts about this small female.

Fun Facts:

Age: 22

Height: 5’5″

Ape Index: 0 😦

Current City of Residence: Louisville, Colorado (essentially Boulder)

Employment: Climbing Instructor, Deskie, and Guest Blogger at EVO Rock + Fitness. As of June, I’ll be adding social media strategizing, water bottle modeling, and blogging for EcoVessel to my resume. So psyched.

Favorite Type(s) of Climbing: Well-bolted vertical and overhung sport routes; technical, crimpy boulders; easy-to-clean trad (where all I do is clean/follow); and well-set indoor routes/problems–yes I do enjoy indoor climbing when it’s precipitating or I’m short on time.

Favorite Post-Climbing Treat: Beer and ice cream. Allagash Black and a large scoop of Gifford’s Maine Deer Tracks was my New England go-to combo. I’m open to suggestions for the best local beers and ice creams to try in Colorado.

Favorite Climbing Locations: (In no particular order) The Buttermilks, Rumney, Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, Joe’s Valley

Current Dirtbag Status: High. I just moved into a small “tiny home” that I build out in what I’m calling “recycled rustic” fashion. It’s really a tiny white box on wheels that I bought off Craigslist. Boulder rent is expensive.

Favorite Rest Day Activities: Yoga, scoping out new projects, and eating large quantities of food.

So why did you decide to start blogging in the first place? That seems like an important piece of missing info!

Ah, the “why the heck did you start writing this stuff?” question. Honestly, I was an overly psyched beginner climber who was looking for a fun way to combine my love for writing and storytelling with my new favorite sport. It started as a joke between a few of my New Hampshire friends and I that turned into my honors thesis project and now my weekly hobby to continue writing.
